Discover The Secrets Behind Every Successful Job Interview
And How You Too Can Win That Dream Job…
Job interview preparation is vital to a smooth running and effective interview.
By preparing for your job interview in good time, you’ll not only come across as more suited for the position, more keen for the job and more focused in your answers, but because you’re prepared you will feel less nervous prior to the interview taking place.
There are a few key things you can do for effective job interview preparation.
1. Get the right image
This means a haircut and a nice new shirt/entire suit if possible. Don’t overdo it with makeup or aftershave, you’re trying to get a job, not a date.
2. Research the company
Nothing is more off-putting to an employer than when you don’t know a thing about them, or about the job you’ll be doing. Do some company research using the internet. Find out what they do on the whole, how long they have been established, how many employees they have etc. Then make sure you fully research your specific job role and write down any questions you might have (this will come in very useful later on).
3. Plan your route
There’s nothing worse than being late for an interview. This can often happen if you don’t leave enough time for your journey. Remember, it’s better to be 2 hours early than 5 minutes late. Being late is the worst impression you can give. The employer will think that if you can’t make it in time for the interview, how on earth are you going to make it on time everyday for work?
Make sure you plan a route including how long it will take at that time of day to take that particular journey.
If you follow these three tips, you’ll feel less pressured and flustered prior to and during the interview process.
